2026 NRL Round 14 Analysis

Round 13 produced several surprising results that sparked fresh movement in the premiership market. Newcastle continued their steady rise after defeating Parramatta, while Melbourne regained some support after shutting down one of the competition's strongest attacks in Sydney Roosters.

The biggest upset of the weekend came at Suncorp Stadium, where St George Illawarra stunned Brisbane. That result saw the Broncos drift noticeably, while the Dragons trimmed their price slightly despite remaining long outsiders. Canberra also gained some market confidence after a strong win over North Queensland, keeping themselves in touch with the teams above them.

At the top of the market, Penrith strengthened their position after edging fellow contenders New Zealand in a finals-like contest. The Warriors remained one of the leading chances despite the narrow loss, while the Roosters eased slightly after struggling to fire in Melbourne. Cronulla also firmed after knocking off Manly, tightening an increasingly competitive group of teams chasing the Panthers.
