The 2026 AFL All Australian squad has been revealed, with minor premier Fremantle leading the competition with eight players selected in the 46-man squad.

Who Are The Locks For The 2026 All Australian Team?
Getting into the 46-man squad is one thing, but several players should already be making room for another blazer.
Max Gawn is chasing history after another outstanding season for Melbourne. The Demons captain has eight previous All Australian selections and a place in the final team would give him a record ninth.
Marcus Bontempelli is another player who should be extremely difficult to leave out. The Bulldogs superstar is chasing his eighth selection, which would put him alongside some of the biggest names in AFL history.
Fremantle's 19-win season should also translate into several final-team selections. Caleb Serong is chasing a fourth consecutive All Australian honour, while Alex Pearce, Josh Treacy, Luke Jackson and Murphy Reid are among the Dockers looking for their first.
Coleman Medal winner Charlie Curnow is another obvious inclusion after making an immediate impact following his move to Sydney.

Almost half of the squad could become All Australians for the first time, with 21 players yet to receive a blazer.
Fremantle account for five of those players alone. Jye Amiss, Luke Jackson, Alex Pearce, Murphy Reid and Josh Treacy are all chasing their first selection after helping drive the Dockers to the minor premiership.
Brisbane youngsters Will Ashcroft and Logan Morris are also first-time contenders, while Geelong's Oliver Dempsey and Connor O'Sullivan have been rewarded for excellent seasons.

Biggest All Australian Squad Snubs
As always, the squad announcement has produced almost as much discussion about the players who missed out.
Harry Sheezel is arguably the biggest omission. The North Melbourne star has already established himself as one of the competition's elite young players, but Luke Davies-Uniacke is the Kangaroos' sole representative in the squad.
Harley Reid also missed selection, leaving West Coast without a representative alongside Essendon and Richmond.
Collingwood defender Billy Frampton can consider himself unlucky after a strong season, while Carlton's Sam Walsh, Jack Silvagni and Tom McCartin were all overlooked. Patrick Cripps is therefore the Blues' only representative despite Carlton's remarkable late-season surge into a wildcard final.
Sydney's representation also comes with an unusual caveat. Charlie Curnow and Brodie Grundy are the Swans' only selections, with Nick Blakey, Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner ineligible following their club-imposed suspensions.
Fremantle Dominate The 2026 All Australian Squad
Eight players from one club is an enormous representation, but it is difficult to argue with Fremantle's haul after a 19-win regular season.
Perhaps the most impressive part is how evenly spread those selections are. This is not simply a dominant midfield filling the squad. Fremantle have legitimate candidates in defence, midfield, ruck and attack.
The bigger question now is how many survive the cut from 46 to 23.
Serong looks particularly difficult to overlook, while Pearce's season puts him firmly in the defensive conversation. Jackson faces the difficult task of competing with Gawn for a ruck position, while Amiss, Treacy and Bolton are part of a stacked group of forwards.

The final 2026 AFL All Australian team will be revealed at the AFL Awards on Tuesday night.
The 46-man squad will be reduced to a final team of 23, with selectors also naming the All Australian captain.
